MONTHLY ACTION

As our monthly action, Save Darfur Canada is promoting a new campaign for Canadian high school and junior high school students called the Darfur Challenge, a national effort to make a difference for young people in Darfur, Sudan.
1.4 million children are directly affected by the conflict in Darfur, which has lasted for almost five years. They are vulnerable to acute malnutrition, violence and recruitment by armed groups, and there are few educational opportunities available to them.
From March 17th to May 21st, Canadian students will raise awareness in their schools and communities about the issues affecting young people in Darfur. They will also compete with groups across the country to raise funds for War Child Canada's work providing resources to displaced children in Darfur, and for Save Darfur Canada's advocacy work. The top fundraisers will win exciting prizes!
To engage in this new campaign:
1. View and print the kit for participants;
2. Register for the campaign;
3. Print copies of the official campaign poster to post in your school and community, and;
4. Check out the Darfur Challenge website to find valuable information and resources.
